I love doing my local markets and meeting all of the people who come out to browse and shop. I especially like chatting with everyone, even if they aren't going to buy anything from me. Of course it is those who stop and glance, check out the prices, and then quickly walk away that can leave me a bit frustrated. I know that they look the price of a bar of soap and think to themselves, "I can buy the same thing at the store for so much less" but did you know OUR SOAP REALLY IS ECONOMICAL!
Some individuals are put off by the cost of our handmade soap. You probably look at a bar of our soap and wonder why it costs more. But here are some things to think about!
- Commercial soap strips the natural glycerin out of their soaps, which results in bars that can be drying to your skin. In turn, they sell you their higher priced lotions to moisturize your skin. So, although a bar of commercial soap may cost less, what happens to the cost once you add in the price of all that lotion that you need to slather all over your dry, itchy skin?
- If you use a liquid body wash the main ingredient is water. You pay for water. A properly cured soap bar has very little water remaining, meaning you are getting exactly what you pay for.
Remember, you get what you pay for, when comparing our handcrafted artisan soaps to what you might buy at the grocery store!
