Meet the Founder

After retiring from a career as an attorney, Colleen Laux moved to Hilton Head Island and turned a longtime interest in soapmaking into Cottonwood Soap Company.

What began in 2018 with a desire to create better bath and body products grew into a full-time business after Colleen moved to Hilton Head Island. Today, she creates small-batch, coastal inspired soaps and body products on Hilton Head Island, bringing together craftsmanship, creativity and a love of the coast.

    Artisan soaps are made without detergents or sulfates and feature skin-loving ingredients, including rice bran oil. Fragrance oils are phthalate- and paraben-free.
